Are you a people-person who would enjoy engaging with Park visitors? If you are, we may have just the role for you! Join our Visitor Centre, Gift and Farm shop team to ensure that all visitors enjoy a great visit to the Park.

You may be involved with only some of the duties listed below based on your experience, skills and wishes. This will be discussed and agreed with Trust staff as part of the application and induction process.

What age is this suitable for?

  • Suitable for age 18 and over

Visitor Centre Tasks

  • Provide information and assistance to Park visitors
  • Promote and take bookings for events and activities
  • Operate the till and process card transactions
  • Issue mobility scooters to visitors
  • Assist our team with merchandising and replenishment of food ranges in the shop
  • Assist with new deliveries and ensure items are stored correctly in fridges and freezers
  • Assist with stock rotation to avoid food waste
  • Carry out visitor surveys
  • Carry out light cleaning duties to ensure that the Visitor Centre is clean and tidy
  • Record wildlife sightings
  • Liaise with the Visitor Ranger
  • Assist our team with taster days, food fairs and festivals
  • Work with our team to provide excellent customer service to all our customers.

You will need to show

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Willingness to learn about the Park and visitor offer
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (if required)
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training e.g. Welcome Host, disability awareness
  • Willingness to provide references
  • Ability to work as part of a team and unaccompanied
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Lots of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude

Availability

We would welcome applications from everyone fulfilling the criteria and able to give on average 2-4 hours per week, particularly during peak times e.g. weekends, school holidays and during the spring/summer season.
