Come and discover our different play areas across Ferry Meadows and Thorpe Meadows

Otter Play

Explore our award winning play area for younger children near the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre which includes natural play with sand, water, rocks and trees as well as a slide and cradle swings.

Badger Play

Refurbished in March 2026, have fun at our adventurous play area just a few minutes’ walk from the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre. Discover bird nest turrets, climbing trunks, a slide and swings (including accessible swings) as well as a wooded area for den building and exploration.

Fox Play

This is the largest of our natural play areas, which you can find close to the Lakeside car park in Ferry Meadows. Fox Play has 13 pieces of play equipment, including 2 zip wires, a tunnel, a slide, a climbing tower, tyre swings, a toddler swing, an accessible upright swing, pump-operated forest fountains, a 4-seater seesaw, balance beams, a wheelchair accessible wobbly bridge and more.

Thorpe Meadows Play

You’ll find a mini playground just next to the Thorpe Meadows Café for little explorers to enjoy climbing and sliding.
