Ferry Meadows

Ferry Meadows is the ideal place for a family day out and one of the largest country parks in the region. Situated less than three miles from Peterborough city centre, at the heart of Nene Park, its varied landscapes make it the favourite destination for thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Pay and Play activities

At Nene Outdoors, we offer Pay and Play activities, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to enjoy watersports, climbing, archery and open water swimming.

Lakeside Farm Shop

Lakeside Farm Shop stocks an exciting range of locally grown and sourced produce from the Park’s very own farm partners as well as suppliers from across the region and is ideally located at Lakeside in Ferry Meadows, next to the Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity Centre.

  • Wildlife Eco Boat trips

    Wyndham's near silent-motor means that she is the ideal craft for wildlife watching.  Join us on a trip around Overton Lake and along the River Nene where swans, geese and other water fowl will glide alongside the boat with you.  We cannot guarantee what you will see but wildlife highlights may include Herons, Kingfishers and the elusive Otter!     On Friday 19th November, members of the Peterborough Sikh Community came together to celebrate Guru Nanak's 552nd birth anniversary, by planting more trees along the edge of the River Nene by the lock at Orton Staunch. Read more
