Nene Outdoors provides taster sessions and governing body training courses for adults and children to develop their sailing skills, aid progression and gain qualifications.

RYA Sailing Courses Youth (8-15) and Adult (16+)

Learning to sail is rewarding and exciting. We operate the RYA Sailing Scheme throughout the year, courses last for 2 days and promote a safe and fun learning environment. The beginner courses take you through the basics of dinghy sailing, getting you to a standard where you are able to enjoy the freedom of sailing. 

Beginners must start with Adult Level / Youth Stage 1 and successfully complete this course before moving onto Adult Level / Youth Stage 2.

Once you have completed level / stage 2 you can come and hire one of our sailing dinghies and enjoy the water at your leisure.

For those who wish to advance further, we can also offer more advanced levels of the RYA sailing scheme. Please speak to the Nene Outdoors team for guidance. 

For further progression you can hire our equipment when you choose to or you may like to join the Lakeside Sailing Club.

RYA Start Windsurfing Course

Nene Outdoors is the perfect place to come and learn to windsurf on our 2 day course. Our safe and sheltered waters help you progress in this sport, giving you the opportunity to focus on learning the basics, including preparation, sailing in all directions, manoeuvring the board and getting on and off the water. 

RYA Power Boat Courses

Power boat training is a key skill to know how to operate a powered craft safely and appropriately. To do this you can attend a course with us to achieve an RYA Level 2 Power Boat Certificate. During this 2 day course at Nene Outdoors, you will be trained to drive and manoeuvre the craft in a safe and controlled way. 

Private Tuition

Want to try something new or focus on a specific skill with personal tuition? We offer pre-booked sessions where you will have a dedicated instructor to provide exactly what you want from that session. Get in contact to discuss your needs, from £43 (plus hire of equipment) for up to two people.

Disabled Access

The centre and its facilities are accessible to everyone, with specialist changing bathroom and hoist facilities. We can also adapt most of the activities on site to individual requirements.
