We are excited to be launching some NEW activities and trails for the six weeks of school summer holidays to keep all the family busy and entertained. From explorer challenges, trails and our ‘Big Summer Hunt’ to archery, cycle skills and our full range of watersports pay and play activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Nene Park this summer. Find out more about what’s on offer:
Join the Park Explorer Challenge
Aimed at younger children (5-12 year olds) and their families, we will be launching a new Park Explorer Challenge each Monday throughout the six week holiday, starting from Monday 20 July. The challenges will take you out to different areas across Nene Park and will involve activities such as puzzles, quizzes and spotter games in each of the different areas. When you have completed each challenge you can award yourself a ‘sticker’ which can be fixed to your own challenge chart. The six challenges, explorer chart and stickers can all be downloaded here or picked up from our Visitor Centre or Nene Outdoors. Complete all six challenges and you can come to the Visitor Centre or Nene Outdoors at the end of the summer to claim your ‘Park Explorer’ badge!
Take part in the Big Summer Hunt
Aimed at older children and their families, we are holding our Big Summer Hunt activity throughout the six week summer holiday, which will see participants busily solving puzzles across Nene Park and having the chance to win exciting prizes! Each Saturday, starting from the 18 July a new clue will be published on our web page and via social media. These clues will range from riddles, puzzles or picture clues which will lead you to a landmark in an area of Nene Park. Once you have solved the clue and arrived at the clue’s location, take a selfie of yourself there and send it into us via Instagram #NeneParkBigSummerHunt or email it to us at Nene.Outdoors@neneparktrust.org.uk by mid day on the following Friday. There will be a weekly prize winner drawn out of a hat for all those solving the weekly clues. In addition, at each weekly location, participants will find a puzzle piece. Collect all six puzzle pieces to reveal the location of the final ‘Big Summer Hunt’ winning destination and be in with a chance of winning our BIG prize of a stunt scooter donated by Rutland Cycling worth over £70 with two runner up prizes of £50 Co-op vouchers. Weekly prizes include chocolate hampers donated by ASDA, and vouchers for Rutland Cycling, Nene Golf and Nene Outdoors. To have a chance of winning a weekly prize or the overall competition you will need to register your details at our online booking system. Full terms and conditions are provided there.
