In spring 2021, The Longthorpe Tower (1290-1300) came under local management of Nene Park Trust, with support from English Heritage.

Through this role, volunteers will help Nene Park protect and clean the heritage site preserving the building and paintings for visitors.

What age is this suitable for?

  • Suitable for age 18 and over

Responsibilities

  • Follow the housekeeping plan for the Longthorpe Tower as set out by English Heritage
  • Carry out monthly monitoring checks of the site relating to the housekeeping plan
  • Sensitively cleaning heritage conservation areas with specialist tools

You will need to show

  • Sensitivity to the site as a historic site that needs to be carefully maintained
  • Willingness to be First Aid trained
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidance
  • Ability to work unaccompanied and as part of a team
  • Reliability
  • Lots of enthusiasm and a can do attitude

Availability
Housekeeping at Longthorpe Tower takes place on a monthly basis and is carried out on a week day.
