The Nene Park: Your Community Greenspace project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund is an exciting 5-year project for Nene Park. Read more
Taking place in Ferry Meadows across the weekend of 13th - 15th May 2022, the Peterborough Celebrates Festival is a new, free to attend, family-orientated festival that will bring communities together and celebrate everything that defines our fantastic city. Read more
Nene Park continues its monthly photography competitions for 2022. Each month will have a different theme, encouraging photographers to search for seasonal nature and wildlife and visit different areas of the Park. Read more
We want to improve the experience for visitors at Thorpe Meadows. With this in mind we are looking at providing a café with small play area and toilet facilities adjacent to the car park. Read more
Nene Park Trust took over management of the sports pitches at Woodlands, Castor in 2017 and are now planning to expand the sports facilities there for the wider community. Read more
From Park to Plate is a share farming partnership between Nene Park Trust and first generation farmers, brothers Craig and Ryan Baxter. The partnership sees lamb and beef reared on land managed for wildlife, including the Nene Park Rural Estate, where nature and farming go hand in hand. Read more
Fox Play is the newest and largest of our play areas at Ferry Meadows. Construction ran from June - October 2021 and it officially opened to the public on 26 October 2021. Read more
From 19 July - 3 September 2021, children aged 3-12 can enter a drawing competition to build excitement for our new play area, Fox Play, which is currently under construction. Read more
As part of the Nenescape Landcape Partnership Scheme, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Nene Park is working with METAL Peterborough and Thames Festival Trust on an exciting international art and education project that connects young people around the globe to their local river. Nene Park is pleased to be exhibiting a new painting by artist Miranda Creswell at Ferry Meadows Country Park, as part of the Ripple Effect project. Read more
Nene Park Trust entered into a share farming partnership with Craig and Ryan Baxter in October 2020, to deliver more nature-friendly farming and in addition, to support the charity’s wider objectives around education, community engagement and environmentally-friendly farming. Read more

Over the past 4 years the Mick George Community Fund have been fantastic benefactors to the Park, and this continues with not one but two grants approved by them towards the end of 2020. Read more
Funding secured from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development LEADER programme, through the Rural Peterborough and Rutland Local Action Group to improve the visitor experience at Ferry Meadows. Read more
Thanks to funding from LEADER, we are currently renovating Lynch Lake Kiosk to create a brand new and flexible community space. Read more
Funded through the Arts Council England, three artists will take up three month residencies in Nene Park Read more
42WORDS will see 10 local artists create 42 artworks in a variety of artforms to be installed in the Park in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Read more
Nene Park ran a new photography competition in 2020, with a new winner announced each month. The winning entries were displayed in the 2021 Nene Park calendar and in a photography exhibition in the Park. Read more
The Nenescape Landscape Partnership Scheme (LPS) is a £4.5 million project to celebrate, protect and conserve the natural and built heritage of the River Nene and its landscape. Read more
Funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this Nenescape project carried out in 2017-2019 restored Heron and Goldie meadows back to wetland. Read more
The boardwalk was created with funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund through the Nenescape Landscape Partnership scheme and with the hard work and dedication of our volunteers and Nene Park Trust staff. Read more
Funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this Nenescape project is focussed on restoring colour and biodiversity back to this remnant of the once-thriving railway on Station Lane, Castor. Read more
