One of our Your Community Greenspace aims is to encourage members of the wider community to access the Park. Our School in Residence Programme launches in October 2022, with the aim to connect with schools that may otherwise have difficulty accessing the Park. We haven’t done anything like this before, so it’s all quite experimental for us. The plan is to invite a school for six visits between October and July, as well as heading out to them at their school for three visits. The children will be our ‘Mini Rangers’ and we’ll be running a range of outdoor, Park-based learning sessions.

Our first school is Paston Ridings Primary school. Over the academic year 2022-23, children and their teachers from Year 3 (7-8 year olds) will come to the Park for six education sessions and our Nene Park Trust team will go to them at their school for three sessions. The school has never visited the Park before on a school trip and is thrilled to be involved.
