Moments with Trees was a two-year project (April 2017 – March 2019) funded by the National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund (NLHF) that focussed on the trees and woodland of Nene Park. Thanks to National Lottery players, visitors were able to learn more about the history and beauty of the Park's trees through a series of trails and guided walks, whilst volunteers developed tree identification and management skills. 

Tree-themed activities for children ran during the summer months and project updates and tree-facts were available on social media channels – visit @moments_w_trees on Twitter.

Trees are a significant feature of Nene Park and have a real story to tell about the history of the landscape. The good management of trees is also key to the future of Nene Park. The project addressed both the past and future of trees in the Park, by connecting with local schools, our volunteers, visitors and a range of partners. The work helped to reveal the past, celebrate the present and shape the future of Nene Park trees. A significant element of the project activities was sharing knowledge about trees and their heritage.

• Over 8,730 trees identified and counted
