Nene Outdoors Get out on the water this summer and try something new out on Gunwade Lake - from kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards to rowing boats and swan pedalos, there's something for everyone to try. Find out more and book your activity here.


Living Sport Living Sport Four Seasons Races explore every inch of Nene Park, taking in the picturesque parklands as they reveal their beauty through Summer, Spring, Autumn and Winter. Entries are open for the Peterborough 10k and 5k on Sunday 4th July. Sign up here. Every penny raised from the events goes directly to the work of Living Sport charity which is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Peterborough & Cambridgeshire by supporting them to get active. Peterborough Model Flying Club - The club meets at Ferry Meadows every Tuesday and Friday from 1pm until dusk, all year round. Visit their website to find out more.

Introducing PECT - This environmental charity 'Peterborough Environment City Trust' has its offices at the entrance to Ferry Meadows and does lots of great work in the Park. Visit their website to find out more. 

Take a Boat Trip - Enjoy a relaxing ride around Overton Lake this summer on our new eco-friendly passenger boat! Trips run regularly at weekends and daily during the school holidays, plus we're offering private hire and catering packages for special occasions. Click here to find out more.  

Peterborough City Rowing Club - Find out about the rowing club that has its home at Thorpe Meadows Rowing Lake. The club runs courses and sessions for all ages and abilities - from beginner to professional level. Visit their website to find out more. 

Nature TotsA fun monthly outdoor parent and toddler group run by the Nene Park Education Team. Each session follows a nature theme and includes a messy craft activity, time to explore the beautiful outdoors, story and song time.

Woodlands Sports Pitches Nene Park Trust owns and manages the football and cricket pitches at Woodlands in Castor. Find out more about the facilities and how you can hire them here

Native Tree Trail - Hannah introduces us to the Native Tree Trail in Ferry Meadows - a trail which includes examples of every UK native tree. Pick up a booklet from the Visitor Centre in Ferry Meadows to find out more about the trail and facts about the individual trees. 

Visitor Centre & Gift Shop - Enjoy a virtual visit to the Visitor Centre & Gift Shop in Ferry Meadows! As well as extensive information on the Park, things to do in the local area and mobility scooter hire, you'll also find a range of exclusive gifts, treats for the home and souvenirs as well as games, toys and everything you could need for a great day out. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, all proceeds from purchases go towards the maintenance of our beautiful Park.
