Watersports at Nene Outdoors
Make a splash with our full range of watersports activities on Gunwade Lake, with activities available between 11am and 6pm each day. Choose from swan, dragon and junior pedalos, row boats, stand up paddle boards, kayaks and canoes, dinghies and windsurfing. Book your activities online to avoid the queues.

Take a Boat Trip

Camping at Ferry Meadows
Upgrade your day out at Ferry Meadows to an overnight adventure! With prices starting from just £27 a night, choose from our ‘Lakeview’ bell tent campsite or ‘The Glade’, our pitch only site. Click here to find out more and check availability.

The Beach at Orton Mere
The Beach at Orton Mere has fun for all the family, with unlimited access to fairground rides, crazy golf and a giant sandpit for just £10.99 per child for a 3 hour session. Run by Leslie Danter & Sons Amusements, this event is suitable for children age 2-10, sessions start at 10am or 2pm each day and includes free parking. Ride the Ferry Meadows Railway
Sit back and enjoy the ride! Trains will operate daily between 11am and 4.45pm, weather permitting.

Tuesday 29 August - Climbing Wall: The team from Nene Outdoors will be getting our climbing wall out today! Are you brave enough to reach the top? Click here to book a session.

Wednesday 30 August - Willow Weaving Workshop: Come and enjoy a full day workshop working with willow to create a useful basket. All materials and tools are provided. No previous experience required. Suitable for age 18 and over, it's £75 per person. Please click here to book your place.

Thursday 31 August - Open Water Swimming: Come along and swim the 400m course on Gunwade Lake in these friendly sessions for all abilities. Suitable for age 9 and over. Register with NOWCA and get your first swim session free. Click here to find out more.

Saturday 2 September - Flying Aces: Join the Peterborough Model Flying Club at their annual Flying Aces event on Oak Meadow. Come and see the spectacle where pilots are judged for flight profile and realism by the flight judges. Click here for more details.

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 September - Adult RYA Sailing Course Stage 2:This two day course covers rigging, launching and sailing in all directions, as well as capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge. After the course participants will be able to sail and make decisions in good conditions. Suitable for age 16 and over, £182 per person. Book your place.

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 September - Longthorpe Tower Tours: Discover the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind. Book your one-hour tour with our knowledgeable team of volunteers.

Water Pay & Play Activities

At Nene Outdoors, we run a ‘Pay and Play’ scheme, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to enjoy the watersports we have on offer. Book for half hour sessions on line or for one hour, book two consecutive time slots, hire our equipment and use our facilities.
