Watersports at Nene Outdoors
Make a splash with our full range of watersports activities on Gunwade Lake, with activities available between 11am and 6pm each day. Choose from swan, dragon and junior pedalos, row boats, stand up paddle boards, kayaks and canoes, dinghies and windsurfing. Book your activities online to avoid the queues.

Take a Boat Trip
Take a relaxing trip around Overton Lake and onto the River Nene and enjoy unique views and the wildlife around Ferry Meadows. Book your tickets now.

Camping at Ferry Meadows
Upgrade your day out at Ferry Meadows to an overnight adventure! With prices starting from just £27 a night, choose from our ‘Lakeview’ bell tent campsite or ‘The Glade’, our pitch only site. Click here to find out more and check availability.

The Beach at Orton Mere
Open from 1st to 28th August, The Beach at Orton Mere has fun for all the family, with unlimited access to fairground rides, crazy golf and a giant sandpit for just £10.99 per child for a 3 hour session. Run by Leslie Danter & Sons Amusements, this event is suitable for children age 2-10, sessions start at 10am or 2pm each day and includes free parking. Complete our Summer Holiday Trail

Ride the Ferry Meadows Railway
Sit back and enjoy the ride! Trains will operate daily between 11am and 4.45pm, weather permitting.

Monday 31 July & Tuesday 1 August - Youth RYA Sailing Course Stage 3: This two course will teach you improved rigging, sailing theory, launching and recovery. Suitable for 8-15 year olds. Book your place.

Tuesday 1 August - Climbing Wall: The team from Nene Outdoors will be getting our climbing wall out today! Are you brave enough to reach the top? Click here to book a session.

Wednesday 2 August - FREE Pond Dipping: Come along to our free drop-in session between 12pm-3pm at Lynch Lake and spend some time pond dipping and identifying the fascinating creatures you find. Click for more details.

Thursday 3 August - Open Water Swimming: Come along and swim the 400m course on Gunwade Lake in these friendly sessions for all abilities. Suitable for age 9 and over. Register with NOWCA and get your first swim session free. Click here to find out more.

Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 August - Longthorpe Tower Tours: Discover the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind. Book your one-hour tour with our knowledgeable team of volunteers.

Water Pay & Play Activities

At Nene Outdoors, we run a ‘Pay and Play’ scheme, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to enjoy the watersports we have on offer. Book for half hour sessions on line or for one hour, book two consecutive time slots, hire our equipment and use our facilities.
