This course is designed for those wanting to assist a Level 3 Forest School Leader. The course duration is four days of training including theory and practical sessions, plus assisting with planning and delivery of a minimum of 3 forest schools sessions. Level 2 Award - Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning Expand This Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning course will develop your skills and confidence in using your grounds for engaging and exciting curriculum delivery. Completion of this course only takes two and a half days plus some structured self-directed study in between the course days. It is designed to be as practical, accessible and supportive as possible in helping you to make a success in implementing a programme of curriculum-based outdoor learning. Content Summary: Understanding the benefits and risks of using the outdoors as a learning environment, looking at the background and context of modern outdoor learning. Learning how to take an holistic approach to implement outdoor learning and how to get everyone ‘on board’ with your plans. Planning and delivering seasonal outdoor learning by building specific skills and confidence in a range of areas that can be developed and enhanced in school grounds and in the local environment. Knowing how to sustainably manage and improve outdoor learning environments. Looking at ecological structures in the natural environment and identifying species in our own local natural environments.
