Activities on every day 

Complete a trail at Ferry Meadows: Pick up a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre for £1 between 9am and 5pm, answer the questions as you walk around the Park and return to the Visitor Centre to claim your prize. There will be a new trail up in the Park from Friday 5th August.

Pay & Play Watersports at Nene Outdoors: Make a splash with our full range of Pay and Play activities on Gunwade Lake, with activities available between 11am and 6pm each day. Daily watersports activities include swan pedalos and row boats, stand up paddle boards, kayaks and canoes, dinghies and windsurfing. Book your activities online to avoid the queues here.

Cycle Hire: Hire a bike from Nene Outdoors and discover miles of traffic-free cycling paths, lakeside trails and woodland routes in the Park. Choose from mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, children’s bikes, child seats and trailers, tandems or electric bikes. Click here to book online or hire on the day at the Nene Outdoors reception.

Take a boat trip: Take a trip around Overton Lake and onto the River Nene in our new eco passenger boat and enjoy unique views and the wildlife around Ferry Meadows. Book your tickets now. 

Camping in the Park! Enjoy a night or more under canvas on the peaceful banks of Gunwade Lake this summer! Our two campsites, The Glade and Lakeview, are perfect for families and offer visitors the choice of pitch-only camping and bell tent hire on an individual or group booking basis. Monday 8th August - Nature Tots, 10am-11.30am
A fun monthly outdoor parent and toddler group with a nature theme. Each session includes a messy craft activity, time to explore the beautiful outdoors, story and song time. Click here to book.

Monday 8th August - Wild Home Educators, 1.15pm-3.15pm
Join our outdoor learning sessions for home schooled children. Each session has curriculum and nature focused activities, with each month having a different theme. Click here to book.

Tuesday 9th August - Bushcraft Workshop - Tool Use, 10.30am-12pm or 1.30pm-3pm
Learn how to use a selection of tools including loppers and gimlets to turn elder sticks into crafts such as beads, jewellery and more! Click here to book your place and choose from the morning or afternoon session.

Tuesday 9th August - Cycle Skills Track, 11am-4pm
Come and have a go at our cycle skills track at Nene Outdoors - just drop in, no need to book. This is a free session, thanks to funding from LNER as part of the On Ya Bike project in partnership with PECT.

Tuesday 9th August - Archery Session, 11am-4pm
Try a new sporting challenge this summer with our archery sessions! The sessions run from 11am to 4pm and last for 45 minutes. Tickets cost £8 per person. Click here to book.

Wednesday 10th August - Wildlife Boat Trip, 9.30am-11am
Wyndham's near silent-motor means that she is the ideal craft for wildlife watching.  Join us on a trip around Overton Lake and along the River Nene where swans, geese and other water fowl will glide alongside the boat with you.  We cannot guarantee what you will see but wildlife highlights may include Herons, Kingfishers and the elusive Otter! Wednesday 10th August - Pond Dipping, CANCELLED
Unfortunately this event is cancelled due to the very low water levels. 

Friday 12th August - Children's Fused Glass Workshop, 10.30am-11.30am or 3pm-4pm
Join June from Semperart at this workshop especially for children. During the session you will learn about the nature of glass to inform your designs and creations, explore the design process and choose from a variety of glass and other materials to make your own piece. This workshop is suitable for age 7 years and over. Click here to book your place.

Saturday 13th August - Adults Introduction to Fused Glass Workshop, 10.30am-12pm
Join June from Semperart at this beginners workshop to make your own unique fused glass. This event is suitable for aged 16 years and over and the cost is £20 per person.  Click here to book your place. 

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th August - RYA Adult Start Windsurfing Course, 9am-5pm
Nene Outdoors is the perfect place to come and learn to windsurf on our 2 day course. Our safe and sheltered waters help you progress in this sport, giving you the opportunity to focus on learning the basics, including preparation, sailing in all directions, manoeuvring the board and getting on and off the water. Saturday 13th August - MIXOLOGY / Under with Darius Syrossian, East End Dubs & Alisha, 12pm-10pm
Mixology returns for it's third UNDER instalment on Saturday 13th August at Orton Mere with a phenomenal line-up! Three of the most in demand DJs in dance music today all performing below Nene Flyover. We welcome Darius Syrossian, East End Dubs & Peterborough’s very own ALISHA back to Mixo! Click here to book.

Sunday 14th August - Guided Cycle Ride, 9.30am-12.30pm or 1.30pm-4.30pm
Join our instructors at Nene Outdoors for a Guided Cycle Ride through the Park and out into the countryside beyond. Enjoy a ride along country roads, over scenic bridleways and through local beauty spots. Rides will be approximately 2.5 - 3 hrs and feature a variety of terrain. This is a free session, thanks to funding from LNER as part of the On Ya Bike project in partnership with PECT. Saturday & Sundays - Visit Longthorpe Tower, 10am to 4.30pm
Visit Longthorpe Tower, the surviving tower of a 14th century, three storey medieval fortified Manor House. It contains the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind. Book your 1-hour tour with our knowledgeable volunteers at weekends throughout the summer.

Monday 15th - Tuesday 16th August - Youth RYA Sailing Stage 1 
Suitable for 8-15 yrs, this two day course covers basic sailing skills, rope work and collision avoidance. After the course, participants will be able to tack and control boat speed and understand basic principles. All safety equipment, including wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided. Click here to book.

Tuesday 16th August - Climbing Wall, 11am-4pm
The team from Nene Outdoors will be getting our climbing wall out during the school holidays for all visitors to have a go. We will be outside Nene Outdoors Watersports and Activity Centre. Are you brave enough to reach the top? Click here to book.

Tuesday 16th August - Pollinator Ponder and Wildlife Wander
A walk with a ranger looking at some of the butterfly, bees and wildflower species found in the Park. Suitable for all aged 10 and over. Click here to book.

Wednesday 17th August - Thursday 18th August - Youth RYA Sailing Stage 2
Suitable for 8-15 yrs, this two day course covers launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat and basic sailing. After the course participants will be able to steer and understand basic principles. Click here to book your place. 

Wednesday 17th August - Youth Windsurfing course
Suitable for 10-15 yrs, this course teaches the basics of windsurfing, including the key techniques and skills you need for success in this watersport. After the course participants will be able to sail to a chosen point on the water and return to where they started in light winds. Wednesday 17th August -Pond Dipping, CANCELLED
Unfortunately this event is cancelled due to the very low water levels. 

Friday 19th August - Bug Hunting, 10.30am-12pm and 1.30-3pm
