We're excited to share that our new replacement bridge for Pontoon Bridge is starting to arrive in the Park this week! Keep an eye out for large sections of the beautiful designed corten steel bridge arriving on lorries and then being floated on a barge across Gunwade Lake to their final position.

The old Pontoon Bridge was removed at the end of August and since then work has been continuing on preparing the foundations for the new bridge.

The new bridge has been designed by craftsman Chris Brammall from C B Arts in Cumbria and is made of corten steel. It will be both robust and resilient whilst establishing a new beautiful landmark in the park. The steel railings of the bridge evolve into gateways of trees at either end, echoing the wooded setting it sits in.

Here are a few glimpses of the bridge being made in the workshop. We'll be sharing more photos of the bridge as it is constructed in the Park soon.
