From 15th March the Lakeside play area, BBQ stands and surrounding grass area will be closed to the public for an estimated two weeks.

Ahead of constructing the new Fox Play area we are undertaking some trial pits to investigate any potential archaeology.

The Nene Valley is an area rich in history and much of this is hidden below the ground.  Large areas of Ferry Meadows were disrupted during gravel extraction activities, however some evidence of historical occupation still remains.

All work is being carried out in line with best practice and in agreement with Peterborough City Council Archaeology Department.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your assistance during these works.
