Despite the current lockdown and ongoing restrictions, we are very pleased that we are still able to add some seasonal festive cheer to Ferry Meadows at this time. As well as our Christmas Tree Festival running from the end of November and throughout December, we are also putting on a number of Covid-secure events and activities for all ages. Our online shop also continues to sell Christmas gift ideas and our Visitor Centre shop will reopen on 2 December. 

Christmas Tree Festival

From the end of November and throughout December, there will be Christmas trees near the Visitor Centre in Ferry Meadows decorated by local community groups and companies and adding a bit of festive sparkle to the Park. If you are part of a community group or company and would like to purchase and decorate a tree to support Nene Park Trust at this time, please contact the Fundraising Team at [email protected]

Christmas trails

To get us all in the Christmas spirit, we have a special Christmas-themed trail around Ferry Meadows with a festive themed prize at the end for everyone. Pick up a trail sheet for £1 at the visitor centre. There will be a new trail on 5th and 12th December.  There will also be a separate holiday trail throughout the Christmas school holidays.

Tree decoration craft kits

As we are unable to run our usual busy programme of family craft 'Elves Workshop' events in the lead up to Christmas, we have made up craft kits that can be picked up from the Visitor Centre or from our online shop for a donation. Make your own decoration at home to decorate your own tree with – or perhaps you’d like to put a decoration on our community Christmas Tree as part of our Christmas Tree Festival in the Park? Photography Exhibition

Throughout December and into the new year, come and see the new photography exhibition which is now on display along the path between the Visitor Centre and Badger Play in Ferry Meadows. The exhibition features the winning images and our other favourite photographs from our Photography competition which ran throughout 2020. Come and take a look at some beautiful Park scenes and wildlife throughout the year captured by our Park visitors.

The Visitor Centre will be open again from the 2 December, just in time for you to pick up some unique and sustainable Christmas gifts. Pop into the shop when you're in the Park between 10am and 4pm or you can also shop online at our new online shop - www.nenepark.org.uk/shop.
