Holiday Trail

Complete a trail around Ferry Meadows and claim a prize at the end!

Collect a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre and then hunt for questions as you walk around Ferry Meadows. Return to the Visitor Centre to claim your flower seeds prize to grow at home. Available every day during the school holidays from 9am - 4pm, it's just £1 per sheet.

The holiday trails are set to change every two weeks in the summer holidays, with the following themes planned:

Week 1 & 2 - Animal Olympics: Which animals would be the best candidates for different Olympic sports?
Week 3 & 4 - Life of a Butterfly: Learn all about the butterfly’s life cycle as you follow the trail around the Park.
Week 5 & 6 - Cloud Cyphers: Use keys across the Park to solve the ciphers and identify the type of clouds on the boards.

No need to book, just pop into the Visitor Centre in Ferry Meadows to get involved!

Ferry Meadows

Ferry Meadows is the ideal place for a family day out and one of the largest country parks in the region. Situated less than three miles from Peterborough city centre, at the heart of Nene Park, its varied landscapes make it the favourite destination for thousands of visitors throughout the year.
Water Pay & Play Activities

At Nene Outdoors, we run a ‘Pay and Play’ scheme, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to enjoy the watersports we have on offer. Book for half hour sessions on line or for one hour, book two consecutive time slots, hire our equipment and use our facilities.

Take a boat trip

Enjoy a relaxing boat trip around Overton Lake on 'Wyndham', our new electrically powered passenger boat, and discover more about our new passenger cruises and private hire services.
Play areas

Nene Park is a great place to play. Games on the meadows, adventures in the woodlands and three great play areas within Ferry Meadows to cater for all ages.
Peterborough Celebrates Festival

Taking place in Ferry Meadows across the weekend of 18th-19th May, the Peterborough Celebrates Festival is a free to attend, family-friendly festival that will bring communities together and celebrate everything we love about our fantastic city.
