charity message sign for gift shop15/02/21

Simon Gardner, Visitor Operations Manager

The first signs of spring are appearing - snowdrops are in bloom and even an early honey bee has been spotted in the Park. This would usually be the time that our gift shop in Ferry Meadows would have new stock arriving for Easter and the spring, while promoting our range of nest boxes and bird food in store, as our feathered friends prepare to look for a suitable location to build their nests. However, due to the pandemic and lockdown number three, our Visitor Centre & Gift Shop remains closed.

bird and insect housesThe Visitor Centre team is keeping busy, ordering new products and preparing for the day we can finally reopen! We'll be introducing a new range of wildflower seeds, perfect for attracting insects to your garden or window boxes, our popular eco-living range will be expanding to include more green ideas to reduce the use of plastics at home and following on from the success of our Christmas hampers, there will be a new range of gift hampers full of our best-selling jams, pickles, marmalades, biscuits and sweets.  In addition to the Nene Outdoors activity vouchers we introduced just before Christmas, we will also be adding a Visitor Centre & Gift Shop voucher, the ideal gift for birthdays and other special occasions.

Throughout lockdown, our online shop has been open and selling a large range of products including food, binoculars and great gift ideas. New items are added every couple of weeks and every penny you spend with us stays within Nene Park Trust, helping us to maintain our beautiful Parks and greenspaces

pooches dog treatsOur dog treat range from Pooches of Norfolk continues to be available through our online shop, with delivery direct to your door. If you are running low on dog treats and snacks place your order online. We aim to have your items with you in 5 to 7 working days.

We received some great feedback about our Christmas decorations, hampers and gift ranges throughout December. The team would like to thank all our customers for their continued support throughout the difficult times of 2020. We hope to welcome you back as soon as we can. For those who have never visited the gift shop, or didn’t even know there is one at Ferry Meadows, please come and visit us post lockdown and explore our range of gifts, cards, books, maps, art, food and toiletries, most of which are produced in the UK, with many supplied by local businesses.

As there was no January sale this year, we will be holding a spring sale when we can finally open our doors with up to 70% off selected items. This sale will be in-store only and will include gardening items, food, sweets and even a bit of Christmas stock too.
