Reedbed Fish Habitat Creation

In 2024, an exciting new reedbed habitat was created in Ferry Meadows using surplus earth from the Lakeside car park construction, turning leftover materials into valuable wildlife habitat.

Share Farming Partnership

In 2020, Nene Park Trust set out to transform 500 acres of traditionally farmed land by partnering with a pioneering, nature-friendly farmer. The contract was awarded to brothers Craig and Ryan Baxter, who began managing the land in October 2020.

New Thorpe Meadows Bridge

The new bridge over the River Nene at Thorpe Meadows was installed at the end of 2023 thanks to a combination of funds from Peterborough City Council, Nene Park Trust and generous donations from Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund and FCC Communities Foundation.

Woodlands Sports Facilities

Woodlands has been at the heart of community sport since the 1980s. Nene Park Trust took over the pitches in 2017 to bring sports back for everyone to enjoy. With planning approval now in place, a new pavilion, community space, kitchen and year-round Multi Use Games Area will soon make Woodlands even better for future generations.
