Fishing

Ferry Meadows is a popular spot for anglers in the East Midlands and East Anglia, attracting visitors from across the region. Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or trying it for the first time, our waters offer a welcoming and rewarding experience all year round.

The fishing concession for the river and lakes in the Park is managed by the Peterborough & District Angling Association (P&DAA). Find more information and book seasonal membership and day tickets on their website.

How to take part

The two main lakes in Ferry Meadows, Gunwade and Overton, are connected to the River Nene and are home to a wide variety of fish, including Carp, Tench, Chub, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch and Pike. To fish here, you’ll need a rod licence, available from the Environment Agency online.

For disabled anglers, there are two accessible fishing stands located near the Lakeside car park, allowing wheelchair users to enjoy the waters comfortably.

P&DAA members can also take advantage of a discounted annual parking membership at Ferry Meadows, making regular visits even easier.
