Norman Cross Guided Walk (for Heritage Open Days)
Join our Volunteers for a guided walk around the fascinating site of the Norman Cross Napoleonic Prison Depot. Our passionate volunteers will bring the story of this unique heritage site to life.
The walk lasts around 1 hour and is free to attend, linking in with ‘Heritage Open Days’. Spaces are limited to 20 people, so booking is essential.
Please note: The site is accessed through a gate and the ground is uneven with long grass, so suitable footwear is recommended. There are no public toilets on site, and parking is limited, so please use public transport where possible.
FAQs
The best place to park is at the Milestone Hotel, just a short walk away. Parking costs £2 for up to 4 hours.
There are no facilities at Norman Cross but Yaxley is a short drive away for pubs and cafes.
The guided walk takes place on the Norman Cross field, where there are areas of uneven ground and long grass. Please bring appropriate footwear. The walk takes about an hour.
