Take a Boat Trip

Hop aboard Wyndham, Nene Park Trust’s electric passenger boat, and enjoy a peaceful trip around Ferry Meadows, taking in Overton Lake, the River Nene and plenty of wildlife.

Built in 2020 by Norfolk boat builders Landamores, Wyndham is eco-friendly and near-silent, making it perfect for spotting swans, geese, herons, kingfishers, and maybe even the elusive otter!

The boat is named after Wyndham Thomas, the chief architect of Ferry Meadows in the 1970s, honouring his work in creating the Park we enjoy today.

Wyndham is designed to be as accessible as possible, with a gently sloping boarding ramp and a hydraulic lift for up to two manual wheelchair users at a time. Please arrive about 15 minutes early if using a wheelchair to ensure a smooth boarding experience. Well-behaved dogs are welcome too!

Public Boat Trips

  • Where: Boat trips depart from the jetty opposite the Visitor Centre in Ferry Meadows

Want a more personal experience? Wyndham is available for private hire, perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events or family celebrations.

Wildlife Trips

With its silent electric motor, Wyndham is ideal for wildlife spotting. Join our specially-extended guided wildlife boat trips to see waterfowl, herons, kingfishers and more, while our knowledgeable team point out highlights and share interesting facts. At certain times of year, you can also enjoy family wildlife boat trips or a combined wildlife boat and bat walk, for a truly memorable experience.
