Woodlands is located just off the A47 in the village of Castor. From the A47, follow Peterborough Road into the village and take the second left onto Splash Lane. Continue along Splash Lane and you’ll find Woodlands on the right-hand side.

By public transport:

The closest bus stop to Woodlands is Splash Lane. For up to date public transport information please visit the Traveline website.

By bike:

Woodlands is well connected to both the city and the wider Nene Park via a traffic-free cycle route. A section of this route forms part of National Cycle Route number 63. Maps are available from the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre.

On foot:

Woodlands is linked to the city centre, the surrounding area and other areas of Nene Park via a network of footpaths. Maps are available from the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre.

There is a tarmac car park available on site that is shared with the neighbouring Castor Lodge care home.

Parking at Woodlands is free for visitors using the sports pitches.

The sports facilities at Woodlands currently consist of a series of temporary buildings. These include two team changing rooms (communal spaces with benches and coat hooks), as well as separate male and female toilet and shower facilities.

An accessible toilet is available within the office cabin, which has ramped access.

Please note that these facilities are not open to the general public and are available only to players and participants when the pitches are booked.

We ask that the cricket ground is treated with the utmost care and respect at all times. Please ensure all equipment and facilities are left in the same condition as you found them.

Any damage, concerns, or ground issues must be reported to the groundsman as soon as possible.

Pitch hire is a mutual agreement between Nene Park Trust and the hirer. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement if the terms of use are not upheld.

When hiring the cricket ground, you are responsible for:

• Returning keys to the key safe at the back of the porta cabin after each session
• Removing and replacing cricket covers before and after play
• Setting up the cricket boundary (rope or white flags)
• Putting out and putting away stumps and bails
• Moving sight screens into the correct position
• Replacing covers if it rains (this includes protecting the match pitch and other prepared pitches for upcoming fixtures)
• Using sawdust sparingly if the outfield is wet
• Ensuring players and teams conduct themselves appropriately and respect the ground
• Avoiding unnecessary damage to the square and outfield (for example, marking bowlers’ run-ups or wicket-keepers’ positions)
• Disposing of all rubbish in the Euro cart located near the porta cabins
