World Garden – success with Trans Support Peterborough
We have just completed our first project working with Trans Support Peterborough. The team of six adults joined our Design and Build World Garden Project, funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund fund as part of the Your Community Greenspace project, to learn new skills in woodworking and landscaping, whilst working together as a team, making new connections and gaining a sense of community in our wonderful Park.
The project ran for 6 weeks, starting on the 12th June and saw the team learning how to construct a variety of large flower beds out of timber. They also received a creative session with former Poet Laureate, writer, poet and performer Kat Beeton – the results of which will be turned into a poem for the new garden area.
Andrea Finbow, Project Development Officer (Communities), who worked with Rex from Trans Support Peterborough to get this project going said:
“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Rex from Trans Support Peterborough to get this project going and then to work with the team throughout the project. The team working, communication and support for each other has been lovely to see and incredible to be part of. I want to congratulate the team on their achievements and thank everyone for their enthusiasm and work on this project”.
