A dog field and camping at Lynch Farm
We’re really pleased to share that Peterborough City Council planning department has given the green light to us to progress our phase one plans for the Lynch Farm site.
Plans consist of a new dog-walking field, which will offer a much-needed space for dog owners whose pets can’t roam lead-free in Ferry Meadows, and a camping area for local uniformed groups – such as Scouts and Brownies – to have the the chance to experience their first night away from home in a familiar, treasured setting.
Most importantly, this change of use approval means the former riding school will be brought back into regular and positive use for the benefit of the Peterborough community. This will help minimise anti-social behaviour and generate a modest stream of income for Nene Park Trust – which is exactly why the site was originally included within the Trust’s portfolio.
We hope to be able to open the dog walking field early in 2026 with camping to follow soon after. Keep an eye on our website and socials for how these plans progress.
