Are you 11-17 years old and passionate about the environment? Would you like to have a positive impact in protecting and enhancing the environment in your local area through practical conservation tasks? Could you be a wildlife champion of the future and help create a better world? Our Rangers will share their skills and knowledge whilst supporting you to carry out different practical conservation tasks each month.
FAQs
You’ll get the opportunity to carry out practical projects in the Park, helping to conserve and improve Ferry Meadows and the wider Nene Park Trust estate.
You’ll need to be willing to work in all weathers, working individually and as part of a group with volunteers from diverse backgrounds and communities.
Good listening skills are key as well to ensure you are following instructions to stay safe in the Park.
Being a part of Young Rangers gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and improve your physical and mental wellbeing.
Perhaps it will even open doors to an outdoor career for you in the future, or simply great volunteering experience to add to your CV.
Nene Park Trust wants to keep our Young Rangers happy and safe. All tools and equipment you’ll need for various activities will be provided including personal protective equipment (PPE).
We’ll also provide support and mentoring from the project officer and wider Trust team.
