Celebration Leaves

The perfect way to celebrate a birthday, honour an important occasion, remember someone special. Purchasing a Celebration Leaf not only gives you the chance to hold a memory in the Park, but also helps to support Nene Park Trust and all the work that we do.

The money received from this scheme will go straight back to the Trust and play a huge part in supporting our continued environmental conservation, opportunities for education, leisure and protecting Peterborough’s heritage.

£250 per copper leaf displayed in the Community Garden at Ferry Meadows for life*

*Nene Park Trust reserves the right to move the sculpture, or leaves if there is the need to. Of course, you will be given notice and relevant information in good time.

Alternatively, pop into the Visitor Centre to talk to our friendly team. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to discuss this scheme further. Please email us at fundraising@neneparktrust.org.uk to contact the Fundraising team.

Made by local artist, Jeni Cairns, these leaves have been hand cut from copper and rolled through a mill with an oak leaf mould to create the delicate veining. Engraved by local engravers with a personal message, the leaves are then finished off in our Nene Park workshop and attached to the carved oak sculptures by our Nene Park Trust Rangers.

These have been created using oak from our very own Bluebell Wood. Alistair Thompson from Quercus Woodcraft treated and shaped the wood to create these beautiful sculptures which have been set within our community garden; a tranquil place to sit and enjoy the messages left by visitors on the leaves.

As the Trust maintains the Celebration Leaves, it is important to remember:

  • All new leaves are to an approved standard design
  • All requests are treated on a first come, first served basis
  • We cannot guarantee the location of your leaf on the oak sculptures but will try to accommodate any requests
  • Plaque engraving: there is a limit of 60 characters per leaf and two lines of text. Each leaf engraving will be reviewed by the Trust, with a proof emailed to the adoptee for approval
  • It is not appropriate for any memorial gifts, tokens, flowers or plants to be left on, near or planted by the leaf at any time (note the Trust reserves the right to remove anything placed in this manner)
  • The scattering or burying of ashes in the Park is not permitted
  • A donation of £250 is requested for each celebration leaf adopted – this covers purchase of a leaf, installation and ongoing maintenance for an indefinite period
  • Leaves are maintained by Trust staff for as long as possible, however the Trust reserves the right to remove or re-site a leaf for any reasons and shall attempt to make contact with the adoptee
  • If a celebration leaf is removed for any reason the leaf will be kept for the adoptee to reclaim – an alternative or replacement may be offered
  • The Trust reserves the right to remove any leaves that may become damaged and shall attempt to make contact with the adoptee
  • We will make the one time offer to have your leaf polished, two years after its installation
  • If you would like your leaf removed and returned to you, please give a minimum of four weeks’ notice and be aware it may get damaged during removal

Thank you for your support – we hope you enjoy celebrating special moments at Nene Park.
