Situated in the heart of Ferry Meadows, the Discovery Den is our dedicated space for children's activities. With brightly coloured murals on the walls and child friendly furniture, it's a great space for children's parties or activities which might involve a bit of mess! 

Fully equipped with audiovisual equipment and a small kitchen area, it is also ideal for training sessions and craft workshops.

The Discovery Den is located next to the main car park alongside the Visitor Centre complex, in an attractive setting overlooking Overton Lake, and has easy access to the Conservation Garden and Ferry Meadows Café.

Facilities

The Discovery Den Education Centre has capacity for up to 42 people seated around tables in our indoor classroom. Additionally, there is an outdoor classroom/picnic area with seating for up to 36 people at picnic benches. 

A small kitchen area provides facilities for making hot drinks, with coffee, tea, sugar and milk all provided. A range of food and beverage packages are available through our onsite catering partner.

Other facilities available include use of a digital projector and whiteboard as well as a selection of field study equipment.

Accessibility 

The room is accessible with level access.  In the wider Park, there are disabled parking bays, easy access paths and facilities, an accessible toilet and the facility to hire a wheelchair or mobility scooter for use around the Park. For more details of the accessibility of the Park please see our Accessibility at Ferry Meadows page.
