Why donate to Nene Park Trust?

Nene Park, a haven for wildlife, heritage, and green space to relax and have fun in. You will often see Nene Park Trust (NPT) thanking the public for donations, celebrating sponsorship with corporates or winning pots of money from funders for projects – so why do we keep asking for more?

Firstly, we have a lot we want to achieve, we strongly believe in the benefit of outdoor space on individual’s wellbeing and how it can improve your quality of life, and therefore take our role in serving the Peterborough community very seriously. We are also passionate about helping our natural world to thrive and in particular, playing our part in combating the climate emergency. These are lifelong aims, which we can only do with your ongoing support.

Secondly, it takes a lot to maintain the land we manage, from parkland to rural estate, the natural environment is ever changing and with that comes great cost – you may be surprised to learn how much was spent on park management in 2020/21…£3,028,000!

Why is it beneficial having a charity run greenspace?

• We are a charity, which means there is no financial benefit to what we do, other than to sustain our work. Our sole motivation is what we do, doing it right and doing it in the very best way we can.
• Charity is selfless giving, it ensures the rights and needs of human beings are met; NPT listens and connects with the public, striving to build a Park which will benefit them.
• Community is at the heart of NPT, made up of staff and volunteers who care deeply about the cause, who have chosen to give their time to a charity and work to achieve a shared charitable objective.
• All too often the things right in front of us or on our doorstep are taken for granted, NPT is here to ensure greenspace in Peterborough thrives and are committed to this forever.

To those who visit and support NPT, thank you, you are helping to build a Park you love and play a huge part in making the quality of life for those who live in Peterborough that much greater. You should be so proud of the Park you have helped create.
