To encourage visitors to enjoy less explored areas of Nene Park, an area in Woodston Reach, surrounded by impressive ash and hawthorn trees, was cleared to create an enticing area to sit and admire the specimen trees. We have named it ‘Woodston Rest’. As well as hawthorn saplings, three apple trees were planted.
Huge thanks to Quercus Woodcraft! Alistair very kindly carved an amazing bespoke bench from Nene Park's oak and sycamore to finish off the area beautifully. Now visitors can take a rest in style and enjoy this stunning sunny spot.
Nene Park’s Moments with Trees (April 2017 - March 2019) was an award winning project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project celebrated and raised the profile of trees through a variety of events and activities.
