Phil, Isaac, Ryan and Lucy all work for Nene Park Trust and are looking forward to taking on this challenge and spreading the word about all the amazing work Nene Park Trust do.

Please support the team and help raise money for your local park. Donations will go directly to providing recreation; education, leisure and wildlife conservation in our greenspaces and continue to provide a park for the people of Peterborough.

Here you can learn a little bit more about each member of Team Nene, what will motivate them to complete the 13.1 miles and why they are trying to raise money for Nene Park Trust:

Name: Isaac Ellard

What is your role at Nene Park Trust? Apprentice

Why are you taking part in the Great Eastern Run? I like racing long distances

What is the furthest you have ever run? 100 miles

What will motivate you to complete the half marathon? Hopefully getting a good time

What are you looking forward to the most? Running

Why should people donate and support Nene Park Trust? To fund the great work that the team does to create such a wonderful park.

What do you see as your biggest challenge in completing the half marathon? I usually go off too fast at the start in things like this

Go-to fuel for a run? Nothing, I can't eat before I run, I've run two marathons without any fuel.

Name: Phil Goodley

What is your role at Nene Park Trust? I am an Education & Activities Officer, primarily working at Nene Outdoors, our watersports and activity centre. I look after the land-based activities at the centre and support the curriculum based activities within the team as needed.

Why are you taking part in the Great Eastern Run? Primarily for the challenge, I'm pretty sure I haven't ever run this far before so I wanted to challenge myself, get fit and raise some funds for the Trust while I did it.

What is the furthest you have ever run? More than 10km, but less than half a marathon, I started running at uni in Cumbria so just ran for the landscape and challenge and never worried about distance.

What will motivate you to complete the half marathon? Getting out mountain biking properly again once the training is over.

What are you looking forward to the most? Getting back on my bike afterwards without feeling guilty about not going for a run.

Why should people donate and support Nene Park Trust? Because of the great work the Trust does keeping the park looking as beautiful as it does and offering everything we do, a lot of which wouldn't happen without donations from members of the public.

What do you see as your biggest challenge in completing the half marathon? Keeping my legs moving for that long and keeping muscle fatigue at bay.

Go-to fuel for a run? Chocolate milk for recovery afterwards.

Name: Ryan Adams

What is your role at Nene Park trust? Activities Assistant, Nene Outdoors

Why are you taking part in the Great Eastern Run? The half marathon was one of my personal goals for my gap year.

What is the furthest you have ever run? 10km

What will motivate you to complete the half marathon? My motivation will be trying to keep up with/beating Phil Goodley!

What are you looking forward to the most? My favourite moment will probably be the finishing straight!

Why should people donate and support Nene Park Trust? Donate to the Trust because it's a huge part of the local community and is important to everyone in and around Peterborough

What do you see as your biggest challenge in completing the half marathon? The hardest part will be the distance because I normally train for short faster runs

Go-to fuel for a run? Bananas and lots of water!

Name: Lucy Thornton-Reid

What is your role at Nene Park Trust? Fundraising Officer

Why are you taking part in the Great Eastern Run? To raise money for Nene Park Trust and make people more aware of all the amazing work the Trust does for the city!

What is the furthest you have ever run? I completed the Leicester half marathon last year and that was the furthest I had ever ran!

What will keep you motivated to complete the half marathon? Knowing what an achievement it is to run that far and to not let the team down, as well as all the cheering and support you get from those watching.

What are you looking forward to the most? The excitement at the beginning, running with so many other people and hopefully feeling amazing at the end!

Why should people donate and support Nene Park Trust? Quite simply because... imagine if Peterborough no longer had Ferry Meadows or the other green spaces we look after! In order for parks to still be here for generations to come we need support from individuals. A little goes a long way, and the benefit of parks on people's health and wellbeing is priceless.

What do you see as your biggest challenge in completing the half marathon? I've had a knee injury the majority of this year and therefore wasn't able to start training till much later than I would have liked, my knee still isn't 100% so I just hope it doesn't cause me any issues during the run - fingers crossed!

Got-to fuel for a run? Always porridge and lots of water!
