Investing in Volunteers
We are excited to announce that Nene Park Trust has been awarded the Investing in Volunteers
accreditation, reflecting the hard work of our staff and volunteers in operating a well organised volunteer programme for the Park.
Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the accreditation scheme run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) which has become the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
In the early part of 2019 we submitted our application and went through a rigorous assessment process, which looked in detail at our volunteer programme management including our recruitment, training and operational processes. In the spring, a number of volunteers and members of staff were interviewed by an assessor, where they were asked a range of questions on the volunteer programme, including how volunteers and staff worked together and how valued volunteers felt.
Achieving this standard shows our volunteers – and potential volunteers – how much they are valued and we hope it gives them increased confidence in our ability to provide them with an outstanding volunteer experience. Thank you to all our volunteers who give up so much of their time to help the Park.
