Through the work of our new Community Greenspace Officer, we are working hard with local communities to improve green spaces across Peterborough. Three areas currently being focused on are Central Park, Tenter Hill and Thorpe Lea Meadows. The aim at Central Park is to set up a Volunteer Ranger Group, which will contribute to providing a positive presence in the Park during the afternoons. At Tenter Hill, the aim is to set up a Conservation Volunteer Group led by the local community to preserve and improve biodiversity. At Thorpe Lea Meadows we are also looking to set up a Conservation Volunteer Group to look after the vegetation next to the foot and cycle path which runs from Thorpe Meadows and the Boardwalk into central Peterborough.

Our Community Greenspace Officer, Pia, is holding a number of drop in sessions at these three areas and is hoping to chat to local residents about how they can get involved. The information on the dates and what's happening at each location is below:

Central Park: Thursday 8th December, 2-4pm

Come and say hi and take part in Word Search and Dot-to-dot puzzles with prizes! We will also be offering free fruit to visitors and perhaps you can take a few moments to fill out a questionnaire and chat about volunteering opportunities

Tenter Hill: Thursday 15th December, 9.30-11.30am

Come and say hi and take part in a Wildlife activity (making apple bird feeders), We will also be offering free fruit to visitors and perhaps you can take a few moments to fill out a questionnaire and chat about volunteering opportunities.

Thorpe Lea Meadows: Tuesday 20th December, 2-4pm
