The planning application for our proposed activity centre at Ferry Meadows has now been submitted to Peterborough City Council.

We would like to thank everyone who commented on our proposals, either at the public exhibition day in November 2018 or online. Overall we received 290 responses, 65% of which supported our proposals for the new Olympic standard climbing centre.

People’s feedback was very important in shaping the latest version of our plans. Issues raised during the consultation have been addressed in the new site layout submitted with the application.

Key changes include:

Approach to the activity centre
  • Creating a more slender tower and general building shape
  • Improving the accessible parking strategy
  • Amending the colour of tower cladding
  • Reducing the plinth area around building
  • Increasing soft landscaping around the building

You can now view the plans on the Peterborough Council planning portal at: www.bit.ly/neneparkLAC and add your comments.

We are also hosting an event for our visitors to view the submitted plans on Tuesday 26 March from 4-7pm at Nene Outdoors. We hope you can join us then.

This is an exciting time for Nene Park. Take a look at some of the images below and on mobile devices you can explore some of the proposed internal designs on our virtual reality viewer:

We will keep you updated as the plans progress.
