Sam's Swim Serpentine 2024 Donate "I spend a lot of time at Nene Park with my family. I also enjoy the swimming sessions on a Thursday night. So thought why not do something fun to give back to an awesome park. Great opportunity for me to raise money for a great place we love and enjoy." We met with Sam to ask him why he wanted to take on the challenge of a two mile swim! What is the furthest you have ever swam? 3,000 metres! Do you have any other hobbies? Running, cycling, swimming, and spending time outdoors. Why are you taking part in Swim serpentine? I love a new challenge and as a child I visited the park countless times. It has been great to see the park develop and improve over the last five years, I want to help support the trust and saw this as a perfect opportunity to raise money. If you could swim anywhere in the world where would you swim? Somewhere I have swam before, The Red Sea, or somewhere tropical, although I am scared of sharks! What do you think will be the biggest challenge for you? If I do not fuel myself correctly, running out of energy or getting injured. What is your favourite way to fuel for a big swim? The same as when I run - pasta, cake and biscuits. What will keep you motivated during the swim? Thinking about what I have achieved and how the money raised is going to help improve the park. What does Nene Park Trust mean to you? Fond memories, excellent facilities and so much to offer! Find out more about Nene Park Trust's appeal here Sam Esward Manage Cookie Preferences
