Longthorpe Tower Tours

Longthorpe Tower is the surviving part of a 14^th century, three storey medieval fortified Manor House. It contains the finest set of medieval wall paintings in a domestic setting in Western Europe, giving a rare insight into the medieval mind.

We have a team of knowledgeable and passionate volunteers who will deliver guided tours – they really bring the Tower to life for visitors!

To visit the site you will need to book in advance and there is a small charge.

The Tower is open most Saturdays and Sundays from 10am.

Longthorpe Tower (1290-1300) is cared for by English Heritage and managed locally by Nene Park Trust.

Training - Level 2 certificate in assisting forest school

This course covers four units of study at Level 2 and looks in more depth at practical skills, using the woodland as a sustainable resource and the theoretical side of planning for learning and play at Forest School. This course is designed for those wanting to assist a Level 3 Forest School Leader.

Holiday Trail

Complete a trail around Ferry Meadows, answer the questions and claim a prize at the end! On every day during the half term school holidays 9am-3pm.
Lake and River Boat Trips

This 45 minute tranquil trip takes you across Overton Lake and onto the River Nene on our electrically-powered passenger boat. The pre-bookable trips will depart on weekends and most days during October Half term from the Visitor Centre Jetty.
Community volunteering on Ham Mere

Ham Mere is wetland area within Ferry Meadows which has become overgrown with willow and other scrub. We are holding community volunteering sessions on Saturdays in September and early October to help us retore this part of the Park. Come and join us!

Water Pay & Play Activities

At Nene Outdoors, we run a ‘Pay and Play’ scheme, providing visitors of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to enjoy the watersports we have on offer. Book for half hour sessions on line or for one hour, book two consecutive time slots, hire our equipment and use our facilities.

Nene Park is a great place to play. Games on the meadows, adventures in the woodlands and three great play areas within Ferry Meadows to cater for all ages.
