Your weekly what's on guide to summer at Nene Park.

The following events and activities are running from Monday 23rd to Monday 30th August.

Monday 23^rd August: The third Community Litter Pick of the summer is happening this morning! Register anytime between 9am and 11am outside the Visitor Centre, where you can grab a litter picker and rubbish bag. Return with your bag, so we can measure your collections! Click here to find out more.

Wednesday 25^th August: You’ll find the climbing wall up at Nene Outdoors, click here to book your time slot.

Wednesday 25^th August: Join our regular social walking group to keep fit, explore new areas of Nene Park and make new friends. This month we’re exploring the East Railway route. This event is suitable for age 12+ and is free to attend, but you do need to book your place online.

Wednesday 25^th August: Drop in at our Pond Dipping session from 12pm to 3pm on Lynch Lake. Suitable for children age 3+, this is a free event but donations are always welcome!

Thursday 26^th August: Learn essential survival skills at our Shelter Building Bushcraft Session, find out how to build a shelter in the wild and have a go at creating your own! Aimed at children age 7 and over, it’s £5.50 per child. Check our website for availability.

Thursday 26^th August: Enjoy a ‘Butterfly Walk’ with visitor ranger Sophie, who will guide you through the fluttering world of butterflies as you walk around Ferry Meadows. Suitable for ages 5 and over, it’s £2.50 per person. Click here to check availability.

Thursday 26^th August: Give Open Water Swimming a try! Held every Thursday evening at Nene Outdoors, swimmers must register with NOWCA before enjoying the 400m circuit on Gunwade Lake.

Daily: Our brand new space themed trail is up in the Park. Pick up a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre for £1, answer the questions as you walk around the Park and return to the Visitor Centre to claim your prize.

Daily: Pay & Play Watersports are running daily Nene Outdoors, from 11am to 6pm. You can also hire a bike to explore the wider Park! Pop in to hire on the day, or book your activities online to avoid the queues!

Daily: Enjoy a boat trip on Overton Lake! Sit back and relax whilst enjoying the scenic views and wildlife found in Ferry Meadows. Our group trips can accommodate up to 12 people, perfect for sharing with family and friends, and run daily from 11am to 4pm. Click here to book your slot.

Daily: Make the most of the final few weeks of the holidays and book a camping stay at Nene Outdoors. Choose from our brand new bell tent campsite, or our pitch-only site. Visit our web page to check availability and make a last minute booking.

Weekend: Discover local history and book a weekend visit to Longthorpe Tower! Our volunteers are ready to show you around and bring the remarkable medieval wall paintings to life. Click here to book your visit.
