As a result of the increased littering issue in Nene Park, especially later in the evening, the Ferry Meadows car park will be closing at an earlier time of 9pm from this Friday (21 August). This earlier closing time will continue until our earlier winter closing time (6.30pm) starts on 29 October.

In addition, to help tackle the littering problem further, our Ranger hours have been extended until 7.30pm each day. We also now have three rangers on every weekend to help deal with this issue. Nene Park Trust is also investigating the possibility of introducing Byelaws to the Park, which would allow the option of issuing on the spot fines for serious littering offences, something the Trust is unable to do at the moment.

Our staff and volunteers continue to work hard to keep the Park litter free, but we again ask all our visitors to respect the Park and either dispose of their litter in the fantastic bin facilities we have placed at regular intervals around the Park, or even better take it home with them.
